Rainy Day

The rain was coming down like crazy for about 30 minutes one day. In the middle of the storm Blake asked me, "Can I go outside?" I was about to say no, but figured, why not? So outside Kyle and Blake went.

The rain stopped shortly after going out but there was plenty of water to play in.

It was super fun to be spontaneous. I need to do fun things like this more with the boys. Lately I have felt like I haven't been fun mom. But this was definately fun. And afterwards, we all went in and had a warm shower. Hope the boys remember these things instead of just remembering me when I am grumpy.

Picture

I am attempting to get a picture of all 3 boys looking at me and smiling. This is the closest we came, notice that no one is bawling. But I am going to keep trying. And I still think this picture is cute.

The Best Day Ever

The boys love Spongebob. There is one episode where Spongebob expects to have the best day, and he sings, "It's the best day ever!" My boys sing that song.

When pioneer day came along, we did the parade, ate tons of candy from the parade, had a happy meal, played with friends, went to the park, saw a rainbow, did snaps (the little fireworks), got some glowsticks and saw the evening firework display. So they figured it was "The Best Day Ever."

I didn't get a ton of pictures but here are some of the days highlights:

Raspberries!

The raspberries are here! This annual event is one of the most looked forward to in our house. And have they ever taken off! For the first time ever I had enough to make freezer jam.

Though Dallin is new to this all he loves it just as much as big brothers. Usually Dallin will share anything, but not raspberries. He just palms them into his mouth as fast as he can.

Some of these raspberries were here when we moved in but we planted about 10 more canes. It took 3 years for them to produce much, but it has been so worth it. With that encouragement, we planted a new peach tree this summer too!

A long wait is ahead of us before we get fruit, but we aren't moving anytime soon. So yay for peaches!

Blake and the Ladybugs

Blake has loved bugs his whole life. When he was two, he used to kiss earth worms. This summer we have tons of ladybugs by our big trees in the backyard. And these are especially fun ladybugs because they are all either yellow or orange. He picked one up the other day and it crawled up to his shoulder. Of course Blake loved that.

Blake loves ladybugs and I love Blake.

Water Fun

Summer has finally arrived. After so much rain and cool days this spring, the boys have definately been ready to get outside and play in the water.

The boys did swimming lessons. They both loved it, which means I loved it.

Here is Blake and Onyx, our neighbor. These two are so cute together! They just love each other. Blake asks for her when she hasn't been around for a day or two. Apparently, they are engaged. It was fun enrolling them in the same class. Blake says to me, "Oh, Mom. I just love Onyx." And apparently Onyx prays that Blake will love her. :) I love that Blake has someone to play with that is his own age. So fun.

Kyle learning the backfloat.

Anyway, the lessons were worth it.

Even though Dallin didn't have lessons this year, he has been enjoying the water too.

He has learned that the hose is a great place to get a cool drink from.

Happy boy. I love summer!

Scrunchy Face

It's back! The little Scrunchy face that Kyle used to do. Now Dallin is doing it.

Here is Kyle, May 2005.

And here is Dallin, June 2011.

They actually look a lot alike!

The funny thing is, that they are both 14 months old in these pictures, so they are doing the same things at the same age.

These boys are so fun!
