The Zoo

For Spring Break we made it on down the the Zoo. We haven't traveled a whole lot, partly because it's hard with a 2 year old. But seeing all the pictures on my computer of how many fun places we went before Dallin was born made me want to get out there and do stuff with the boys again. The drive down to SLC was timed so that Dallin would take a snooze in the van and therefore be a happy baby. The only problem was that he didn't fall asleep until 5 minutes before we got there. So we took our time finding a parking spot and he ended up with a whopping 15 minute nap. I wasn't very hopeful that he would be a good boy for the day but it turned out just fine. He did really good.

Here he is seeing the elephants for the first time!

It really was fun to watch Dallin explore and see new things. What a fun little guy!
I think Blake and Kyle may be getting to an age where they want more excitement than the zoo can offer. Kind of a bummer that they are there already. But they still had a lot of fun and were good boys. They stayed close by and were happy. I think they loved the monkeys the best. So cute!
Cousins Jake, Allie and Nate came. That made the day even more fun. My kids love them!
It was a really good trip with all three of the boys. Everyone had fun. This outing made me excited for summer so that we can go do more stuff together!

Deodorant

Mmmm, teeth tracks through my deodorant.
Why is it that I offer yummy food, like tortillas, bread and jam, crackers and cheese, turkey, cereal and noodles, and he will push it away, only to go foraging for things on his own?

Dallin's Birthday

For his 2nd birthday, Dallin got some great toys. First, a new basketball ball hoop and balls to go with it. He got the hang of making baskets real quick. The balls that Aunt Dixie got were so perfect, they are big and heavy enough to make baskets so he loves them, but they are super soft. So they can be thrown in the house with no worries.
He also got a new car, since that is what he is obsessed with. "Cahh!!" or, "EEe Car!" He spends a lot of his day playing with a car, watching the wheels move, driving them on surfaces and especially opening and closing the doors on them. In fact, we picked this one out for him especially because the doors open and close. He really loves that.
He got his own cupcake too! Dad helped him blow out the candles:
Then he dug in! Mmm. He knew right away what this was. "Cake!" In his cute little voice. Happy birthday Dallin!

Dallin is 2

Happy Birthday to Dallin! The baby is two! Guess he isn't the baby anymore. How lucky I am to have this little boy. He is so fun and sweet. He is also very smart, he amazes me. He loves to go to bed, how great is that? He is currently obsessed with cars. He says, "Eee car!" and "go go!" He calls Blake "Beep" and Kyle "ca-ca" which makes the big brothers laugh and laugh.

This is one of my favorite newborn pictures!

Look at that chunk! I love it!

Dallin, you are so special to me! Mom and Dad love you so much and so do your brothers. Thank you for being in our little family.

Eight is Great

I am having so much fun watching my boys get older. Now that Kyle is in scouts, he gets to do fun stuff, like the pinewood derby! Really, this was more for Brian than Kyle. Brian got really into it. He learned a lot about how to make the cars go fast. He is already looking forward to next year so he and Kyle can do it all over again.

The car on the right is Brian's car, uh, I mean Kyle's car. I thought it was pretty ugly but Kyle liked it a lot. And it did pretty good.

Kyle also finished up basketball a couple months ago. Going to the games was so fun. I wish he could channel all his aggression and desire for dominating into sports. It would make life around here much easier. But for now, he is still timid in sports. But I think with some practice he can get more aggressive. He loves participating.

Basketball was fun! Going to the games one or two hours on Saturday is just a glimpse of how life will soon be. With 3 boys I am going to eat sleep and breathe sports. And I can't wait!

Kyle's Bday

We went to the fun park for his birthday. We played laser tag, which I had never played before. So fun! We also had tons of fun playing the arcade games. I got a babysitter for Dallin, which made it so much easier. Brian and I could even play a few games. The fun park was a major hit, we will totally have to go again sometime.

Kyle asked me for a transformers cake this year. While I racked my brain for how I could make him a fun transformers cake, he informed me that all he wanted was to put 4 of his transformers toys on a cake. He wanted strawberries too. So it was easy!

Everyone liked the cake, even little brother!

Kyle got a bike this year. We had some drama over the bike, he started crying because his old bike was stolen and it reminded him that he really missed his old bike. But he warmed up to the new one and is happy once again.

So, we had a great birthday with Kyle this year. Happy birthday little buddy!

I have a Scout!

A cub scout to be more specific. It is so fun! I love it!
I had to get a picture of him in his cute little scouts uniform. He didn't like the fact that he had to do pictures. So this is the face he gave me,

Then he couldn't help smiling...

and finally I got a good picture:

So scouting days are here! Yay! Tonight is the Pinewood Derby. And soccer practice too! We are entering the days of crazy busy. Today goes like this:
Get Kyle off to school, then Blake to preschool, run to WalMart, pick Blake up, babysit, clean the house (ignore the laundry), keep Dallin on some sort of schedule, pick Kyle up from school, get homework done, ride the boys so chores get done, get Blake and Kyle from soccer practice, cook dinner, go to the derby, do the dishes, bathing everyone and get the bedtime routine done. Wow, I am tired. :) But I love all the things I get to do with the boys. I definately want to preserve some free time and family time too. But I want the boys to have the chance to do all these fun things too.
So pictures to come of soccer practice and pinewood derby!

Kyle is 8

Happy Birthday my little buddy!

I cannot believe I have an eight year old! It is so fun to have Kyle in our home. He is a happy and playful boy. He is a great big brother and super helpful.

Kyle, I love you so much. Thank you for being the wonderful little boy that you are. You have a very strong sense of right and wrong. You are so kind hearted. Your teachers always love having you in class and you are very smart too! I am so lucky to have you as my son!

The Par-tay

The morning of Blake's birthday, he woke up and was acting a little strange. He was quiet, he was laying down a lot and looked worried. I checked him for a fever and sure enough he was warm. I asked if he felt sick. With eyes wide, he said, "No." I said, "Blake, if you don't feel good we can do your party another day. Are you sure you are not sick?" He started crying, "I'm sick!" he said. Poor guy. He was afraid that if he admitted he was sick, his birthday wouldn't happen. But as soon as I told him we could do it another day, he fessed up. So he spent his actual birthday not feeling good. Then Dallin and Mom got it, and it was no fun. Finally, we were all better and could celebrate Blake's 5th birthday, 2 weeks later.
I saw a cute cake idea in a magazine, a ninja training camp. I thought it would be fun with Kung Fu Panda. With Blake's approval, that is what he got for his cake. It was really fun!

The awesome neighbor kids came. I love having great kids nearby for my kids to play with. We did Kung Fu Panda masks and Kung Fu Panda tattoos. We also did a bean bag toss.

The cute blondie next to Blake is Onyx. Apparently Blake and Onyx are engaged. They sure are cute together. :)

Birthday Party accomplished, Happy Birthday Blake!

Now I get to do it all over again for Kyle in 2 weeks. :)
