Tee Ball

One of the perks to being 5 is that you can play on the local tee ball team! We have been telling Kyle that he can start playing, and he has been excited, up until yesterday. He told me he wasn't going to go. He was just feeling a little shy. So, I let him watch some other teams, Brian got him a mit and they practiced in the backyard. I still wasn't sure if he was really going to do it, but he did great!



He swung...


He hit it!!
He made it all the way around the bases, and ran to home plate. It was so fun to watch! This for me was one of those things that I have been looking forward to for a long time. Maybe it is silly, but it was a happy moment.


Of course, being in the outfield is not as exciting as being up to bat.

Most of the other kids were exactly like Kyle, just learning to play. It was so fun to watch 7 kids all run for the ball and how no one quite knew what base they should be on. Kyle even ran towards home from 1st plate. But there was such a scramble for the other team to grab the ball that he still made it to 2nd before the ball did.

He did great. Most importantly, he had fun.

A Day in Wyoming

Wyoming is definately good for two things, motorcycles and fishing.


Kyle caught his first fish! And he did it all by himself, casting and everything. We got permission to go on some private property to some small ponds that were planted with fish. The fish were biting like crazy so it was perfect for the kids.



Blake caught his first fish too!



Of course we had the traditional motorcyle ride. What more could two little boys, well three if you count Brian, ask for?



It is definately beautiful there. We love visiting.

Budding Artist

Kyle drew himself. Notice the smile he has, so I take it he is a happy kid. You'd think he would hear me better with those big ears of his.

I need these little cute things because the boys have both been not so easy lately. Yesterday, Blake woke up at 2:30 am crying for popcorn. He threw a fit about that for 30 minutes. Finally, he gave up and went back to sleep. When he woke up, he dumped out the garbage all over the floor, ripped the trampoline net down, and poured water out on our upstairs bathroom floor. Of course big brother Kyle encouraged this behavior by giggling. Then Blake climbed up on the counter and got into the treats. He was standing on the counter, naked as the day he was born, with SIX sticky lollipops in his hand. When I saw him, all he had to say for himself was, "Hi Mom." Kyle plugged the sink in the bathroom with who knows what. Then both of them took all of my very important papers and shoved them behind the refrigerator. Little partners in crime.

Needless to say, I had a snickers bar before bed last night.

6th Picture, 6th Folder

This was a fun tag. Depending on how I count, in Picasa or in My Pictures, here are the pictures from the 6th folder.


Oh! It is baby Kyle. He was only about 3 months old here, and as you can see he used to sleep in his car seat. He was so chubby! Can't believe it.

The other 6th picture is from last June.

Brian was building a fence to enclose our backyard completely. I love how handy he is. Brian can do anything. And Blake was only one! How time flies.

Yard Day

We spent our Saturday cleaning up our messy yard. There was a lot of work to be done. Most things around here were overgrown from before we even moved in.
Things got worse before they got better.




As we were digging we found a bunch of cute little fuzzy caterpillars.


Of course Blake was instantly in love.



He giggled when the caterpillar would crawl on him. Soft, fuzzy, snuggly bugs. Who knew. Things couldn't have been more amazing for Blake.




And here is the final result. A full day of hard work, but it was worth it.

Women's Conference 2009

I got to go to womens conference! My sister in law Melissa and I had three days and two nights with no kids, no car seats, no tantrums or sippy cups. I needed the break because this being a mom business is really hard. The classes were inspired and spiritually filling. We were reminded of how to live in the world and not of the world, parenting lessons in the book of mormon and spreading the gospel . Also we heard Elder L. Tom Perry speak which was awesome.

Though I was so grateful for the break, I missed my boys, even Blake's wet kisses. It was great to come home.

Thanks a million to Aunt Sue and Susanna for watching my boys while I was gone. And thank you Brian for being so willing to let me go have a break. He is super dad.

Uplifted and refreshed, I think I can handle motherhood for another year. Well, at least I'm goint to give it a shot. :)

Happy Easter

I love Easter. Luckily it was such a beautiful day here we didn't even need jackets during the Easter egg hunt.

Blake would stop and eat the candy before finding more eggs.


Kyle was good at finding. Luckily he was a nice big brother and helped Blake find some.

Grandma Bonnie came and it was really fun. The boys love when she visits.


After asking several times for these two to "look at the camera and smile!" this is the best picture I got. The boys just didn't feel like sitting still. But I still love it.

Easter morning I read John's account of the Easter morning after the Savior was resurrected. That is probably the most beautiful of all scripture. I love Easter and the reminder of the great atonement of our Savior.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful Easter!

Guilty

This picture just says it all. Kyle knew he had done wrong.


What were they guilty of? They were playing in my food storage. I was actually not that upset about it. I was more worried about Blake getting into the SCISSORS!
Silly little guys.

The Party

Although Kyle's birthday was actually a few days ago, we celebrated today. So much fun.


Here is my attempt at a transformers cake. It looks very homemade. But you know what? Kyle knew what it was and loved it.




All the cousins. With 20 people in my house I felt how small it is. But thankfully the weather was nice and we were able to take the kids outside.

I am all about food, so in case you care to know, we had sweet pork with fresh flour tortillas, black beans and rice. Mmmmm. Looking forward to leftovers this week.


We finished the day bumper bowling. Kyle got absolutely spoiled. But your 5th birthday only comes around once.
