To save on cash, I haven't bought the boys happy meals in a long time. That is not to say we never eat fast food, they usually just share a dollar burger. But McDonald's is having Star Wars toys and my boys are smitten. So we indulged. I have to say, it was so worth it.
Since school started for Kyle, he has been moody (which will have to be a whole other long post). Blake was whining and bawling and I had gotten up with Dallin at 4:30 am. I really love that baby's smile, but, seriously, 4:30? So, we all got in the van, went in the drive through and partook.
On the way home we stopped at the willow park zoo and sat in the shade where we could see the monkeys playing in their cages. There was no, "Kyle's eating all my fries!" or "Why can't I have some of your coke? Please, please, please, PLEASE!" They both got just what they wanted, inluding their own individual drinks (one chocolate milk, one lemonade) and a super exciting toy. There was plenty of food to go around. In fact, I think I had to finish Blake's fries (oh the burden).
While we were sitting there, each boy smiling, quietly content, Blake says to me, "Mama, you so nice. I love you!" Kyle says, "Yeah Mom. Thanks, this is awesome." And I go home to no dishes to do. So nice.
Happy meals may not be good for your body, but last night, they were good for my well being.
