Pet Rock

A few days before school ended, Kyle came home with this. It came out so cute!

Blake Finger Painting

Blake thinks he is helping me by "washing" the mirror.

Three or four times a week he does this. He has tons of creative outlets. Why is this one so appealing right now?

I was a little slow getting breakfast ready this morning. The kids took matters into their own hands.

Dallin is changing fast too. He has been loving anything with wheels. He can push cars and trucks around.

He is such a good happy little guy.

Last Day of School

Two last days of school around here.

Kyle finished up 1st grade. He had a wonderful teacher this year, Mrs. Truman. He learned so much from her and is a great reader now!
Atually Kyle was sick the last day, so he missed out on some of the fun, but I took him up there just for pictures.

And Blake finished 3 year old preshool:

This is Mrs. Jones, Blake just loves her. She taught him the cutest song to sing me for mothers day. He sings it to me often now, it is so sweet. Anyway, he is excited to go back next fall.
They both had a great experience with school this year.

Cousins

My sister came to visit! It has been so fun. I love that my boys are getting to know her girls. Before, when I would talk about Aunt Bridget, they would give me a blank stare. Now they know her and her younger two daughters.

Here is my little Blake and Dallin, and Bridget's girls Sofiyyah, who is called Saffy, and Fatima, who goes by Teemie. Aren't they dolls!

We are at the Willow Park Zoo here.
The monkeys were pretty much the favorite.

I wish the rain would quit. We could go outside more. Everybody loves the backyard. On the sunny days, the kids spend hours out there.

Saffy loves Brian. She has been afraid of me, but not Brian. She goes right up to him and chats away.

Blake and Teemie have a mutual affinity for bugs. It is so cute!

Anyway, it has been super fun! What a great way start to summer vacation!

Wildcat Run

A few years ago, Kyle's school started an annual 1 mile run. The kids train for it all school year. The parents come and cheer them on, and every kid finishes. The great thing is that people cheer even for the last kid to cross the finish line.

Here is Kyle, at the starting line getting ready.

And they're off!

Little brother Blake was cheering everyone on!

Here's Kyle as he comes up to the finish line:

For the kindergarteners the run is only 1/2 mile and optional. So last year we did not participate. I had heard how fun this event was, but actually going for the first time, seeing how hard these kids have all worked, and to see them accomplish their goal was awesome.

Great job Kyle! What an awesome day.

Have you ever noticed how loud little kids voices are? Even when they are trying not to be loud, they just are. Blake is loud. He even whispers loud.

I was in the dressing room the other day, and Blake is telling me how pretty everything looks on me. Even though I disagreed it made me feel good. What a sweet boy. Then he loudly says, "Mama, you pretty. You even pretty when you naked."

Sorta wished there weren't other people in the dressing room at that moment.

New Gate

Our fence has been needing some attention for a while. It didn't latch so I haven't been comfortable leaving my boys outside without me. Brian has been wanting to expand the gate so that he could drive a truck through it.

Of course the boys "helped." Brian had to pour a small amount of concrete so hold the new post and we had told the boys they could write their name. But I guess we got the wrong kind of concrete, it went from watery to hard and never could be written it. Oh well.

Finished!

Brian worked on the yard, it looks better. But there is a lot to do still. Kyle really was helpful, he is getting older and more capable.

We got a new lawn mower to replace our broken one. I have been thinking that we will slowly be able to move forward in acquiring things we need. But it seems like we reach a certain point, then all we end up doing is maintaining the things we have. But I try not to get too concerned about it. It is just stuff.

And besides, I love my little house and the people who live here. How lucky I am.

Dallin

Last week during the sunny days we got to hang out in our wonderful green backyard.

Dallin got ahold of my sunglasses. He knew just what to do with them.

This little person is just happy and sweet. I love having him around. I was so worried about a third little baby coming into our home but he has been the easiest transition by far. I cannot imagine life without him. He is good natured, warm, cute and chubby. I love this little guy!
