Happy Easter

I love Easter. Luckily it was such a beautiful day here we didn't even need jackets during the Easter egg hunt.

Blake would stop and eat the candy before finding more eggs.


Kyle was good at finding. Luckily he was a nice big brother and helped Blake find some.

Grandma Bonnie came and it was really fun. The boys love when she visits.


After asking several times for these two to "look at the camera and smile!" this is the best picture I got. The boys just didn't feel like sitting still. But I still love it.

Easter morning I read John's account of the Easter morning after the Savior was resurrected. That is probably the most beautiful of all scripture. I love Easter and the reminder of the great atonement of our Savior.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful Easter!

Guilty

This picture just says it all. Kyle knew he had done wrong.


What were they guilty of? They were playing in my food storage. I was actually not that upset about it. I was more worried about Blake getting into the SCISSORS!
Silly little guys.

The Party

Although Kyle's birthday was actually a few days ago, we celebrated today. So much fun.


Here is my attempt at a transformers cake. It looks very homemade. But you know what? Kyle knew what it was and loved it.




All the cousins. With 20 people in my house I felt how small it is. But thankfully the weather was nice and we were able to take the kids outside.

I am all about food, so in case you care to know, we had sweet pork with fresh flour tortillas, black beans and rice. Mmmmm. Looking forward to leftovers this week.


We finished the day bumper bowling. Kyle got absolutely spoiled. But your 5th birthday only comes around once.
Thanks to everyone who came. It was a lot of fun.

It has been so wonderful to have Kyle in our home. We are lucky to have him and are grateful for his spirit and his giggles.

Kite Flying

Yesterday it was so beautiful. Sunny, mild and windy. So we broke out the kites.


Yes it looks like fishing, but actually Brian attached the kite string to his fishing pole and bringing the kites down was easier this way.

Oh Kyle

So my little Kyle has always been very curious and is already asking questions that I can't answer. Nothing a little trip to the library can't fix. So we have been checking out kids books on other countries. Right now, it is China.
"Here is what Chinese money looks like," I say. "Here is what the Chinese alphabet looks like. Here is a city in China."
Kyle is looking very intently at each picture.
"And here is a picture of Chinese boys and girls in their classroom."
Kyle, still looking intently, says, "Mom, why are they so sleepy?"

Happy Birthday Blake

Blake is officially 2 years old today. I can hardly believe it.
I was looking back at some of his baby pictures and it really is amazing how fast they change.




His baby fine hair used to stick straight up, no matter what we did with it.






I guess it's true that you do eventually see pictures like this and smile instead of see a huge mess.



Wow, I just love this little guy so much. He has the sweetest spirit and is so affectionate. He loves to cuddle which is why I call him "Cuddle Bug." I feel so blessed to have him.

Growing Up

Within three days Blake grew out of 3 pairs of pajamas, he peed in the potty and he moved into a big boy bed. He must know he is turning two in a few days.
I know he is turning two because his new solution to every problem is to hit mom. He is still sweet and cuddly, but he now has a temper.
Moving from the crib has been unbelievable. I know I shouldn't compare, but...when Kyle moved to a big boy bed it was so hard. He jumped on his bed, kicked the wall, played, came out of his room, cried, screamed and jumped around some more. But Blake just walks in, climbs in bed, and closes his eyes. I check on him three or four times, amazed that he is actually asleep. It is pretty cool.


Please ignore the shockingly ugly wall paper in the background. I am in the process of fixing up Blake's room. Pictures of his newly decorated room should be coming in the next few weeks.
So I guess I can't call Blake my baby anymore. I sure still feel like he is. I even feel like that with Kyle, who is almost 5. Time marches on. Better enjoy them while they are young.
